Job summary

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our cancer care team in the Phoenix area. The role involves preparing IV admixtures and chemotherapy, reviewing orders, and ensuring patient safety across multiple locations.

You will travel between our Surprise and Phoenix offices, maintain strict aseptic technique, manage inventories, and stay current with new therapies. A PTCR/PTCB certification and 2+ years of pharmacy experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of pharmacy experience, including sterile compounding (IV admixture and/or chemotherapy).
• Strong aseptic technique and pharmaceutical terminology.
• Excellent math and dosage calculation skills.
• Pharmacy Technician certification preferred (PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and compound medications, including IV admixtures and chemotherapy, under supervision
• Review medication orders for accuracy, completeness, and authorization
• Verify insurance approvals before preparing medications
• Accurately calculate dosages and conversions (metric/apothecary systems)
• Maintain inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications
• Keep detailed logs (temperature, controlled substances, protocol drugs, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and safety guidelines for medication handling and disposal
• Clean and maintain sterile compounding environments (hoods, equipment)
• Stay current with new medications and protocols
• Travel between locations as needed

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is looking for an experienced Pharmacy Technician (Admixture) to join our team. This position will work in our Suprise office Monday/Tuesday and Friday, and in our Phoenix office Wednesday and Thursday.

What We're Looking For:

• Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
