Job summary

LUX Infusion in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation and fulfillment under pharmacist supervision. The role is on-site with a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST, and reporting to the Pharmacy team.

You will handle labeling, packaging, inventory, insurance coordination, and regulatory compliance, while contributing to accurate and timely patient care. Training and credentialing support is offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in retail, hospital, or specialty pharmacy.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

Perform pharmacy technical and clerical duties under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
Prepare, label, package, and stage prescriptions including sterile admixtures, unit‑dose, and prepackaged medications.
Generate and process batches for prescription preparation and shipment.
Enter and maintain accurate prescription, inventory, and shipment data in pharmacy systems.
Generate labels, pick lists, and packages in accordance with dispensing orders.
Coordinate with intake and billing teams to ensure insurance authorization prior to shipment.
Communicate shipment details with field staff and managers to ensure accurate delivery.
Receive, unpack, verify, and document incoming drug and supply deliveries.
Monitor outbound shipments to confirm delivery and file documentation accurately; perform and document quality assurance activities.
