Job summary

Penn Medicine's Infusion Pharmacy team is seeking an Infusion Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in preparing, compounding, dispensing, and delivering sterile medications for infusion patients. You will assist with inventory management, documentation, and service coordination to ensure safe patient care.

The role rotates between the Cherry Hill Infusion Pharmacy and the Sewell Infusion Pharmacy, with shifts Monday–Friday and select Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile compounded medications, including IV therapies and specialty infusion medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, and all applicable regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain cleanroom equipment and compounding supplies.
• Perform aseptic technique and ensure accurate labeling and packaging of medications.
• Medication preparation and compounding.

The Infusion Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacists in preparing, compounding, dispensing, and delivering sterile medications for infusion patients in compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations. This role assists with inventory management, medication preparation, quality assurance, documentation, and service coordination to ensure safe and timely patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare sterile compounded medications, including IV therapies, admixtures, and specialty infusion medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Maintain compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, and all applicable regulatory standards.
• Operate and maintain cleanroom equipment and compounding supplies.
• Perform aseptic technique procedures and ensure accurate labeling and packaging of medications.

Work Schedule & Locations:

This position rotates between the Cherry Hill Infusion Pharmacy and the Sewell Infusion Pharmacy.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday: Variable day shifts
• Saturday (Cherry Hill only): 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Weekend rotation: Every 6th Saturday

Qualifications:

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (as required by state regulations)

Preferred

• Six months to one year of pharmacy experience in a retail, outpatient, infusion, or healthcare setting
• Experience with sterile compounding and infusion pharmacy operations
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Salary Range:

$17.33 - $27.22/Hourly
