Job summary

Smart Meds Pharmacy in Greensboro, NC seeks a Pharmacist to oversee daily pharmacy operations for infusion therapy patients. You will interpret physician orders, ensure therapeutic appropriateness and maintain accurate records while supervising staff and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The role includes training new staff, providing clinical information, and performing IV compounding with rigorous quality checks, while integrating with nurses and physicians in care planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an accredited college/university.
• Experience in IV alternate site environment preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities

• Interprets and evaluates physician medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness and cost effectiveness.
• Maintains all legally required records accurately.
• Supervises pharmacy support personnel and interns in compounding, packaging and labeling.
• Trains and orients new employees.
• Provides technical/clinical information and communicates monitoring results to patients, nurses and physicians.
• Compounds IV admixtures using proper technique with checks.
• Ensures appropriate security for legend items including controlled substances.
• Performs accurate computer order-entry, labeling and dispensing.
• Participates in clinical activities with nurses/physicians and care conferences.
• Supports performance improvement activities and training.
