Position Overview
The Pharmacist provides clinical pharmacy services related to chronic and traditional acute infusion therapies. Conducts sterile compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring activities in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies pertaining to pharmacy practice standards as defined by the state board of pharmacy, federal agencies, accrediting bodies, and Soleo Health. Embraces a team approach to patient care and overall customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provides compounding, dispensing, and clinical monitoring services prescribed by physicians or other authorized medical personnel.
- Complies with all local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.
- Provides direct supervision to pharmacy technicians and support personnel ensuring compliance in all areas.
- Coordinates pharmacy services utilizing a team model with nursing, intake/admissions, reimbursement, sales and marketing to ensure an efficient, patient‑focused approach and optimal clinical outcomes.
- Participates in Soleo's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.
- Orient and train new pharmacy staff, and may act as a resident preceptor for pharmacy interns as requested.
- Serves as a clinical resource to Sales and Marketing, and may assist with customer presentations and the clinical review of marketing materials.
- Supports and complies with company procurement and inventory control procedures.
- Acts as a resource to the corporate clinical services department and may participate in the product selection committee as requested.
- Ensures pharmacy dispensing is compliant with insurance authorization procedures for each patient dispense, and supports the reimbursement team for insurance audits.
- Participates in the pharmacy on‑call rotation to provide continuous support services to customers.
- Demonstrates understanding of USP 797, USP 800, and current State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Maintains accurate clinical records, including those required for state and federal reporting on all controlled substances dispensed.
Schedule
- Per Diem, 16 hours per week, weekends, Saturday & Sunday, 9 am – 5 pm
- Must be willing to work a minimum of two weekends per month
- Must be able to participate in on‑call schedule
- Must be licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Arizona
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D), or R.Ph. with appropriate clinical experience
- Applicable active state licensure
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience working with a specialty home infusion company, or in a hospital setting with primary responsibilities in the pharmacy IV room
- Efficiency in CPR+/CareTrend is desired
- Excellent clinical and customer service skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
