Job summary

UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division is seeking a Pharmacist to join our Ohio pharmacy team. The role involves dispensing medication orders, compounding sterile products, and overseeing drug therapy safety in a fast-paced setting.

You will interact with patients and healthcare professionals to optimize outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance. Requirements include a BS in Pharmacy or PharmD, an active pharmacist license in the state, and strong knowledge of infusion therapies.

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or PharmD degree.
• Current, unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state working.
• Solid drug product and clinical pharmacy knowledge.
• Knowledgeable in various infusion related therapies with ability to work through the complexity of therapy related orders.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to fill medication orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (8-hour shifts between 7am-7pm weekdays with rotating weekends) and rotate being on call based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Dispense unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, IV, enteral and related supplies following state and federal regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Compound medications using appropriate components, supplies, and sterile/ventilated environment.
• Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies, and patient education materials are included.
• Review medication orders and evaluate appropriateness and completeness of orders with consideration given to the specific age group.
