Under the general direction of the Administrator and Business Service Manager, the Patient Account Analyst is primarily responsible for verifying insurance benefits and eligibility as presented by the patient. This position also obtains and regulates all authorizations and ensures the patients are processed in a timely fashion to start the course of treatment. The role includes handling patient account inquiries/requests and payment postings for payments made at the site, following departmental protocols within business services, pre-AR, and financial assistance planning. Effective communication with patients (via phone or in person), clinical team members, and physicians is essential. Additional information may need to be collected on patient accounts to process claims both internally and externally, including coding and compliance according to CPC regulations.
