Job summary

Mercy Health in the United States is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver compassionate oncology care. The role involves assessing patients, developing and implementing care plans, administering chemotherapy and IV therapies, and maintaining a safe therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate holds an associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing, current RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS and ONS chemotherapy certification within 6 months are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in the state.
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred on hire).
• ACLS acceptable in lieu of BLS.
• ONS Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy Certification required within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates plan of care, implements treatments and evaluates treatment effectiveness.
• Restores, supports, promotes, rehabilitates, or palliates to maintain physiological, psychological and psychosocial stability.
• Administers chemotherapy and other medications, starts IVs, transfuses blood products and performs therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Anticipates and responds to changing patient conditions with confidence.
• Assists in creating an environment that promotes educational growth opportunities for nursing peers.
• Other duties as assigned.
