Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham is seeking an Outpatient Oncology Infusion Nurse Per Diem for the Needham/BIDMC oncology infusion program. The role involves safely administering chemotherapy/immunotherapy, transfusions, and supportive care in an 11-bed infusion suite within the cancer center.

Training and competencies are overseen by a Nurse Leader. Candidates must have an accredited nursing degree, an active RN license and Basic Life Support certification; 1-3 years of related experience

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
• RN License required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Chemotherapy administration experience.
• Chemo/Biotherapy certification.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Basic familiarity with computers.

Responsibilities

• Safely administer chemotherapy/immunotherapy, transfusions and supportive care.
• Educate patient/family on self-care during treatment.
• Care for peripheral IV access and central venous access devices.
• Evaluate tolerance to therapy via labs and symptoms.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and BIDMC/BID Needham.
