Aperion Care in Elgin, IL is seeking an Infusion Nurse (RN) to perform infusion services and uphold high-quality care standards. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and ensures care is delivered per plans and regulatory guidelines.

The nurse will monitor patients, document findings, and counsel families while maintaining accurate records and demonstrating strong clinical nursing skills in a long-term care environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when needed.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and laws for care facilities.
• CPR certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

SUMMARY: The Infusion Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing and is responsible for providing infusions. The infusion nurse is responsible for ensuring that care is delivered appropriately, and the standards of quality are adhered to.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform care as defined by client’s individual Plan of Care and within scope of state’s nurse practice act.
• Monitor patient’s condition and notify appropriate personnel of any changes.
• Provide those services requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill.
• Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
• Counsels the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs.
• Preforms all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse with a current unencumbered state license.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must be knowledgeable of nursing & medical practices & procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
• Current CPR Certification is required.
• Experience in Long Term Care is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
• Must be able to speak and write the English language
• Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position
• Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
• May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
