Job summary

Premier Health Partners is seeking an Oncology Infusion Nurse in Ohio to collaborate with the cancer care team and deliver comprehensive infusion therapy. The role focuses on assessing patient and family needs, managing symptoms, and providing education within the nursing process.

Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy and immunotherapy, ensuring safe IV/SC/IM delivery, and adhering to ONS guidelines while supporting continuous quality improvement and professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Ohio RN license and CPR certification at hire.
• ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy certificates or obtain within defined timelines.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire; OCN or equivalent preferred within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assess and respond to cancer patients and families across the care continuum.
• Deliver patient-centered oncology infusion care per nursing process and guidelines.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, IV, subcutaneous and IM therapies as trained.
• Collaborate with the cancer care team and participate in quality improvement efforts.

Full time/72 hours per pay
8:00am-5:30pm, 8:30pm-6:00pm, 9:00am-6:30pm As an Oncology Infusion Nurse, the oncology nurse collaborates with other cancer care team members to assess and respond to the full impact cancer has on the patient and family, including the physical symptoms, functional limitations, psychosocial disruptions, and knowledge needs associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Oncology nursing is patient-centered and may encompass individuals, families, groups, and communities. The oncology nurse is accountable for delivering care within the framework of the nursing process. The scope of oncology nursing practice will include health promotion and disease prevention strategies, treatment and related physical care of disease management, psychosocial support, and education for active participation in decision-making. The oncology nurse actively participates in professional role development activities, including quality assessment and improvement, practice evaluation, professional education, collegiality, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the review and clinical application of research findings. Integrates the Collaborative Model of Care with a strong focus on patient-centered care into daily practice. Provides care for patients across the life span in a manner sensitive to social, cultural diversity. Demonstrates competency in all aspects of chemotherapy administration, immunotherapy administration, IV therapy, subcutaneous and intramuscular injection administration. Knowledgeable and practices within the ONS guidelines during any adverse event while administering chemotherapy, i.e. extravasations, infiltrations or chemotherapy spill incidents

Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Valid Ohio RN license
• Current CPR certification required at the time of hire
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy Certificate or must obtain within 30 days of hire
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate or must obtain within 9 months of hire
• OCN certification or must obtain within 1 year of eligibility (eligibility=2 years as RN and 2000 hours of adult oncology nursing practice)
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Preferred experience: Prefer expertise in peripheral venipuncture and expert assessment skills related to vascular access and IV therapy access and IV therapy
