Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with MA license and current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; infusion experience highly preferred.
• Proficient peripheral IV skills required and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete general patient assessment and obtain vital signs
• Establish IV access per policy
• Prepare, administer and document infusions/injections per order from the physician
• Monitor for infusion related reactions. Follow infusion reaction protocol and notify physicians if any concerns for infusion related reactions
• Educate patients and caregivers on treatments and associated side effects
• Open and close infusion suite using daily log, ensuring proper cleanliness, sterilization and infection control
• Send follow up to ordering physicians regarding patient's status and infusion experience
• Assist medical assistant in managing and maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory
• Schedule patients for follow up appointments
