Job summary

University Cancer & Blood Center in Georgia is seeking an experienced Oncology RN to join a dedicated care team. The role emphasizes compassionate patient-centered care and adherence to oncology protocols in an outpatient setting.

Responsibilities include chemotherapy and infusion management, vascular access, clinical documentation in OncoEMR, and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff. BLS is required; GA RN license active, with oncology experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Georgia.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Prior experience in oncology, hematology or outpatient infusion services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: perform physical assessments prior to, during and after treatment. Monitor and manage immediate adverse reactions according to standing orders.
• Vascular Access management: initiate and maintain peripheral intravenous lines; access and maintain central venous access devices (i.e. implanted ports, PICC lines)
• Therapy Administration: safely verify and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy and iron products following strict clinical protocols and safety guidelines.
• Clinical Documentation: maintain accurate, timely and complete documentation of patient assessments, interventions and medication administrations within OncoEMR.
• Collaborative Care: Work closely with team members across disciplines to promote coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Patient Education: provide education to patients and caregivers regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, symptom management. Support patients and families with compassion and understanding.
• Professional Development: participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education and ongoing professional development.
• Advanced and Emerging Therapies: Complete training and maintain competencies in advanced technologies such as scalp cooling for alopecia prevention and Theranostics.

Job Qualifications:
