Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinic operations under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and physician. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, input data into the medical record, and prepare examination rooms.

This PRN, hourly role emphasizes a patient-centered approach and teamwork. Required: high school diploma, accredited medical assisting program, and national certification (AMT/AAMA/NCCT/NAHP) plus BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
• Certification through AMT/AAMA/NAHP/NCCT as CMA/CCMA is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document history and chief complaints.
• Measure and record vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height).
• Input patient data into the medical record under supervision.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist with procedures as directed by physician.
• Provide multi-skilled support to the care team under RN supervision.
