Job summary

OU Health is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant for the Stephenson Cancer Center Main Infusion Clinic. The role assists under RN supervision in a fast-paced outpatient setting, records vital signs, performs basic nursing tasks, and supports admissions and transfers.

Excellent communication and multitasking are essential. Educational requirement is a High School Diploma or GED with active Basic Life Support.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) required upon hire.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient health status under RN supervision and implement the plan of care.
• Carry out physician and nursing orders within scope as directed by the RN.
• Take/record vital signs (BP, temp, pulse, weight).
• Perform blood glucose monitoring and telemetry setup as directed.
• Assist with admissions, discharges and transfers.
• Transport patients between treatment areas as needed.
• Maintain clean and orderly patient rooms; restock supplies.
• Provide care as a safety attendant when assigned to a patient.
