Infrastructure Technical Program Manager, GCNA-Deployment

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continuous access to our cloud services. You will be part of a diverse team including software, hardware, network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Your role involves collaborating across AWS to uphold safety, security, and capacity standards while maintaining cost-efficiency. We are looking for an Infrastructure Technical Program Manager to expand our Edge Infrastructure. Your responsibilities include prioritizing, scheduling, and executing network upgrades across Amazon Data Centers, managing cross-functional projects, coordinating with internal departments and external vendors, developing project schedules, identifying risks, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. A background in IT infrastructure, technology deployment, or computer science is essential.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of completing projects on time and within budget, leading technical teams, facilitating whiteboard sessions, analyzing risks, and coordinating implementations to ensure success.

Key job responsibilities
  • Monitor network infrastructure health, anticipate risks, resolve issues, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Define requirements and processes with stakeholders including engineers, project managers, and senior management.
  • Manage project dependencies, interface negotiations, and trade-offs.
  • Participate in hiring and mentor team members to improve skills and productivity.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously across organizations.
  • Engage daily with engineers, technicians, and management.
  • Analyze and visualize data using tools like Redshift, Oracle, Tableau, and QuickSight.
  • Drive automation and simplification initiatives in engineering and project management.
  • Create predictable processes for large-scale projects.

About the team

The GCNA Deployment team ensures timely delivery of Border Networking deployments within a geographic scope, owning end-to-end deliverables.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant IT discipline
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 5+ years of Data Center and/or Network Deployment experience
  • 5+ years in deploying/operating Layer 2/Layer 3 networks, including DWDM, load balancers, and content delivery networks
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience managing complex technology infrastructure projects
  • Deep understanding of multiple project management methodologies
  • Familiarity with AWS network architecture
  • 5+ years in Physical fiber plant OSP/ISP
  • Excellent multi-tasking and prioritization skills
