We’re looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on builder to join us as our Infrastructure Tech Lead. In this role, you’ll lead the evolution of our cloud infrastructure and developer platform, shape future architecture decisions, and guide the team toward reliability, scalability, and simplicity.
You’ll work with a global team , and we’re counting on your leadership to connect the dots between operations, development, and long-term vision. You’ll also be an important cultural contributor, we’re looking for someone who leads by example, mentors others, and builds strong engineering foundations.
Responsibilities
- Own our cloud platform end-to-end: Design, build, and continuously evolve our AWS-based, cloud-native infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Infrastructure as Code and automation-first practices.
- Drive architectural and strategic decisions: Make long-term choices around architecture, tooling, and system health, balancing technical excellence with business priorities and operational realities.
- Developer experience through automation
- Design and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and reliable environments that enable teams to ship safely and quickly.
- Lead with a security-first mindset: Act as the primary guardian of platform security: enforce high security standards across Linux, containers, Kubernetes, and AWS, while ensuring compliance and best practices are consistently applied.
- Be a hands-on technical leader: Contribute directly to infrastructure and tooling code, participate in code reviews, and guide technical decisions through example and experience.
- Mentor and grow the team: Support and coach engineers on infrastructure, debugging, performance, and operational excellence, helping them grow both technically and professionally.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with developers, QA, and other Tech Leads to ensure a shared platform vision and smooth cross-team delivery.
- Continuously improve the stack: Evaluate, introduce, and test new tools, patterns, and approaches to keep our platform modern, secure, and scalable.
Qualifications
- Strong infrastructure and DevOps background: 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering roles, with proven ownership of systems and initiatives.
- Deep AWS expertise: Very strong experience operating AWS programmatically using tools such as CloudFormation, AWS CLI, boto3 (Python SDK), or CDK.
- Security-focused systems engineer: Solid foundation in Linux and containerization, with hands-on experience running secure Kubernetes environments in production.
- Automation and GitOps mindset: Strong understanding of Git, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps workflows, with a bias toward repeatable, automated systems.
- Proven technical leadership: Experience leading or guiding a small team, managing priorities, and aligning technical constraints with business expectations.
- Analytical problem solver with big-picture thinking: Excellent debugging skills and an analytical mindset, combined with the ability to step back and think about long-term platform health.
- Clear and effective communicator: Able to communicate complex topics clearly—whether planning infrastructure changes, coordinating incidents, or running postmortems.
- Collaborative team player: Positive attitude, strong collaboration skills, and a sense of humor that makes working together enjoyable.
Why Join Us
- Work from anywhere (even in pyjamas!): We’re a fully remote team, so whether you're coding from your favorite café, your living room, or a cozy corner in Hungary (where most of our team is based), you’re good to go.
- Flexible Hours: Early bird? Night owl? No problem! As long as the job gets done, we don’t mind when you clock in. Get your work done on your schedule, and balance your life the way you like it.
- Cutting-edge tech: You'll be working with a truly innovative cloud-based EEG platform. It’s healthcare, but cooler (think life-changing without the sticky electrodes).
- Collaboration overload: Join a team that values communication and teamwork. Expect plenty of collaboration across projects and regular interaction with your colleagues.
- Growth opportunities: We’re a growing company, which means you'll have the chance to grow with us. Want to lead projects? Build new skills? We’ve got your back.
- Fun vibes: We’re serious about our work, but we don’t take ourselves too seriously. If you appreciate a good GIF or meme mid-project, you’ll fit right in.
The Interview Process
- Meet the team: First, you’ll have a chat with two of our team members. We’ll get to know you and your experience better and, yes, you might get a few technical questions (but don’t worry, we keep it casual). This is your chance to see how we work and what we’re all about.
- Technical interview: Next, you’ll have a technical interview focused on infrastructure, architecture, and problem-solving. We’re interested in how you think, how you approach technical challenges, and how you turn your experience into practical solutions. Don’t expect a grilling session—we’re much more interested in the way you think than in textbook answers.
- Team dynamics conversation: You’ll then have a relaxed, 50-minute conversation with our organizational development specialist. The goal is to get to know you better from a team-dynamics perspective and explore how you like to work, communicate, and collaborate with others.
- Meet your team and the company: Next, you’ll get the chance to meet your future team and the wider Zeto crew. This is a two-way conversation: you can ask us anything, and the team will have the chance to get to know you as well. Think of it as a team-fit session where everyone can see what it would be like to work together.
- The final call: After all that, we’ll make our decision. Hopefully, it’s a high-five and a welcome aboard!
