The State of Ohio seeks an experienced IT professional to evaluate and improve infrastructure policies, lead change projects, and monitor security across networking, authentication, and DNS services.
You will collaborate with IT teams to design solutions, document incidences, and ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and NIST CSF frameworks. Strong policy analysis and communication are essential.

Requires extensive working technical knowledge of infrastructure operations and maintenance and receives general direction in order to evaluate current IT policies, procedures, and practices
Recommend and/or lead IT driven change efforts, participates in and/or leads activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and perform solutions design
Monitor network for security threats or unauthorized users/access
Oversees routing and switching technologies (e.g., Cisco Meraki and Catalyst IOS XE Platforms, FTD Firewalls (FTD on ASA5525-x, FTD on firepower 2130, firewall 3120 Threat defense, firepower 1120 with FTD, firewall 3110 Threat defense), ANS Cloud Firewalls Cisco NCS Platforms, and all related protocols); supporting Microsoft ADFS/Domain Management, Group Policy (GPO) management, and support, management and troubleshooting of DNS, DHCP and SMTP services
Implementing cybersecurity best practices in network credentials, authentication, profiling, and role-based user identity management supporting compliance efforts with PCI-DSS and NIST CSF Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VPN connectivity and performance; collaborating with IT teams, security analysts and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of NGFW solutions.
Works with IT Architect staff, CIO or IT Managers to design solutions that meet the agency's requirements (e.g., network design and architecture solutions)
Assists analysis of the solution design's business case; authors portions of the solution business case; works with vendors, other specialists and/or agencies to solve integration problems.
Evaluates current IT policies, procedures, and practices and makes recommendations and enforces network security policies.
Plan and conduct formal mentorship activities for peers and/or lower-level staff via verbal instruction or technical documentation
Develops network incident response procedures and create documentation
Provides direction and/or participates in documenting and communicating problem resolutions with other information technology staff
Responds to incidents on a 24-hour basis and attend meetings, trainings and conferences
Must conduct oneself professionally and in a law-abiding manner at all
60 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: evaluating current IT policies, procedures and practices, recommending and/or leading IT driven change efforts, participating and/or leading activities to achieve project tasks/meet deadlines, and performing solutions design including 12 mos. work experience in the primary technology specified by the agency in the position description & job posting.
