Job description

ActioNet has an opportunity for an Infrastructure Services Management Engineer . This role is remote and based in Suitland, MD.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, coordinate, and/or perform network hardware and operating system additions and changes, including the investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation, and testing of new network hardware and software.
  • Provide direct support in daily network hardware and operating systems operations, including evaluating system utilization, monitoring response times, and providing primary support for detecting and correcting operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot network problems at the physical and logical levels, using network measurement tools and working with communication protocols.
  • Participate in the planning, design, technical review, and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and operating systems for voice and data communication networks.
  • Maintain network infrastructure standards, including TCP/IP communication protocols.
  • Provide technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3 years
  • Perform daily activities of configuration and operation of systems, which may be mainframe, mini, or client/ server-based .
  • Optimize system operation and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Assist users in accessing and utilizing business systems.
