Job summary

Mace is recruiting an Infrastructure Inspector for its Gateway Program in New York. The role focuses on quality assurance, inspection of construction activities, material testing, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and standards.

You will monitor contractor performance, document nonconformances, coordinate testing, and prepare daily to quarterly reports. Hybrid work options are available in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in inspection/quality assurance on large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience with federally funded projects is preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and reporting.
• Familiarity with quality management systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of construction activities, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with plans, specs, and standards.
• Monitor contractor performance and report deviations or non-conformances.
• Review daily inspection reports and safety/quality checklists for accuracy and completeness.
• Support implementation of the project’s Quality Management Plan and procedures.
• Review and maintain records of testing, inspection, acceptance activities, and punch lists.
• Document nonconforming work and verify corrective actions.
• Coordinate materials testing including off-site lab testing by independent labs.
• Ensure materials meet specified standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit inspection reports (daily, monthly, quarterly).
• Communicate findings and recommendations to resident engineers and project management.
• Participate in meetings and technical briefings on inspection and QA.
