Job summary

Exist Software Labs Test in Enterprise, NV is seeking a skilled Linux system administrator to assemble, configure, and maintain workstation and server infrastructure, including networking components. You will implement virtualization, monitor performance, and ensure security.

The role requires 3+ years experience, a bachelor’s in CS or engineering, and hands-on work with OpenStack, Xen, Proxmox, and OpenLDAP/DNS/DHCP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years Linux system administration (CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Strong Open Source/Linux experience and virtualization knowledge.
• Experience with OpenStack, Xen, Proxmox.
• Experience with SVN, Git, Squid, OpenLDAP, DHCP, DNS, Web Services, Asterisk PBX.
• Knowledge of networking: LAN, WiFi, switches, routers, VLAN, VPN, IPSec, firewall.
• Experience with multiple OS: Ubuntu, Mac, CentOS, Windows.

Participates in network planning, design, and materials acquisition.

Installs, configures and troubleshoots all operating systems and application software on the servers and workstations.

Provides technical support to all employees. Ensures that all employees connected to the network is able to utilize network resources trouble-free.

Execute network procedures for basic network maintenance operations like the management of various data stores, connectivity procedures, and backup/restore operations.

Implement server security standards and levels.

Monitor overall network performance providing strong response times to network clients.

Troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues. As problems arise, assist in identifying the problem(s) and provide assistance in resolving them.

Skills/Experiences Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or any engineering related courses/field.
• 3+ years intensive experience in Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu) system administration.
• Have extensive knowledge in implementing solutions using Open Source Technology particularly the flexibility in handling different Linux Operating System (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Experience with virtualization implementation such as OpenStack, Xen and/or Proxmox.
• Experience in different Linux Operating System (Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Have working knowledge using various services such as SVN and Git repositories, Squid, OpenLDAP, DHCP, DNS, Web Services, and Asterisk PBX system.
• Have knowledge in networking concepts such as LAN, Wifi, switches, routers, VLAN, VPN, IPSec, and firewall.
• Moderate to extensive knowledge in setup, management, and administration of the following operating system: Ubuntu, Mac, CentOS, and Microsoft windows.
