Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Mainframe z/OS administrator in Alabama to install, configure and support z/OS platform software across multiple sysplexes. You will provide technical MIS/end-user support and coach junior staff while handling on-call duties and ongoing improvements.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience, solid knowledge of z/OS components, DB2, JCL and IBM administration tools, plus strong collaboration with engineers and architects to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, configuring and supporting the z/OS platform software.
• Proficient with z/OS SMP/E, and Mainframe JCL.
• DB2 for z/OS or DB2 LUW installation and support.
• Experience with IBM Administration Tool and IBM Query Monitor.
• Programming in REXX, CLIST, SAS, COBOL, or ASM.
• Familiar with CA-7, CA-OPSMVS.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, VSAM, ISPF, JIRA, SharePoint, Service Now.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience.

• Apply solution design and support while consistently meeting customer needs
• Leverage technical knowledge and industry experience to design, build and maintain infrastructure technology solutions

• Independently solve common problems and update applications with new technology

Requirements

• Experience installing, configuring and supporting the z/OS platform software
• Using z/OS, SMP/e and Mainframe JCL, System Utilities
• Experience with DB2 for z/os installation and support or DB2 LUW install and support
• Experience with IBM Administration Tool, IBM Query Monitor
• Programming experience in one or more of the following languages – REXX, CLIST, SAS, Cobol, ASM
• Working knowledge of – CA-7, CA-OPSMVS
• Working knowledge of Syncsort, ISPF, ISPF Dialogs, REXX, CA-ACF2, DF/DSS, IDCAMS, Unix System Services
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, NDM, Securing Ports, VSAM, User Exits, Sharepoint, JIRA, Topaz, Service Now, incident and change processes
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams
• Experience with Project Planning, Mainframe Security, disaster recovery and business continuity
• 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience
