Job summary

TEKsystems seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer for a new startup entity in Wixom, MI. The role covers Cisco networking, wireless and switches, with responsibility for on-prem virtual environments and Microsoft 365 administration.

The position is full-time and hybrid, reporting within a larger IT organization. The ideal candidate will act as the first IT engineer, providing frontline support and looking to grow into an IT management role as the team scales and the business expands its

Qualifications

• Strong infrastructure engineer with Cisco networking, wireless and switches.
• Experience managing virtual/on-prem servers and administering Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Entra AD, SharePoint Online, Teams).
• First-line IT support experience and potential leadership growth; previous lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be the first formal IT engineer in the startup and support day-to-day IT operations.
• Troubleshoot user issues, password resets, and hardware/network problems.
• Administer and maintain M365 services (Exchange, Entra AD, SharePoint Online, Teams).
• Plan for IT growth as the company expands and mentor future IT hires.

Description

Our client is looking to hire a full time employee to join a new start up company they created that works in contracting out manufacturing space to non-automotive customers. They typically will work to manufacture for the government, retail manufacturing customers, or other industries that require custom, just in time manufacturing processes, but lack capacity to manufacture themselves.

In this capacity they are looking to hire a strong infrastructure engineer that has a jack of all trades skillset, but can come in with experience across the Cisco networking stack including wireless and switches. They also will need this person to be experienced with managing virtual & on-prem server environments and be able to handle administration across Microsoft o365 services like Exchange, Entra AD, SharePoint Online, and Teams. This role will vary on the day to day aspect of what the job looks like as this will be the first formal engineer hired to the start up, however they are backstopped by the much larger IT team across the parent company.

The person identified for the job needs to be comfortable being the first line of support for anything ranging from a password reset, to troubleshooting users machines, installing a new switch, or administrating m365 services too. They envision this role growing into a IT management type position as the company continues to grow so the ideal candidate has experience as a lead or would like to get into leadership too. Currently they have a user base of 40 people across the environment, but as that grows so will the IT team. The manufacturing operation only runs first shift and the required hours are just 7-4 or 8-5pm.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $120000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
