  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Senior Patch Management & Infrastructure Automation Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Engineer III to support enterprise patch management and infrastructure automation initiatives. This role will serve as a technical resource responsible for designing, developing, and implementing scalable patch management solutions across Linux and Windows environments, including .NET and Java application platforms.

The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure engineering expertise, hands-on automation experience with Ansible and Python, and the ability to improve patching processes through tooling, process design, and operational efficiencies. This individual will collaborate with technology leadership, engineering teams, business partners, and vendors to deliver secure, reliable, and effective technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage patch deployment across Linux and Windows platforms, including .NET and Java environments.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation tools and solutions to improve patch management efficiency using Ansible, Python, and other relevant technologies.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline patching operations through process improvements, automation, and standardized workflows.
  • Develop and refine patch management tools, processes, and factory designs to support scalable and repeatable operations.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, engineering, and support teams to design, implement, and maintain technical solutions that meet current and future business needs.
  • Read, interpret, and create architecture diagrams to support infrastructure design, tooling development, and operational workflows.
  • Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements from stakeholders across varying levels of the organization.
  • Evaluate and work with patch management tools such as Ivanti, SCCM, or comparable platforms.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, standards, procedures, and operational support materials.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify opportunities to improve system stability, reliability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Coordinate vendor interactions and resources as needed to support technical initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and team members.
  • Follow industry best practices and adhere to applicable risk, regulatory, security, and internal control standards.
Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical processes and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering, infrastructure, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of professional experience in technical engineering involving infrastructure design, systems architecture, data management, or complex application environments.
  • Experience developing scalable patch management processes and automation solutions in large enterprise environments.
  • Ability to translate complex business and functional requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementations.
  • Advanced knowledge of infrastructure engineering technologies, server/client environments, virtualization, and enterprise systems.
  • Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
  • Strong process improvement, facilitation, and technical documentation skills.
