Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Data Scientist to join the Infrastructure Data Science team. You will partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to make Pinterest's infrastructure more measurable, intelligible, and actionable.

Depending on the area, your work may span app performance, shopping infrastructure, metrics quality, infrastructure governance, or site reliability. You'll help build the data foundations, measurement systems, and analytical frameworks that enable Pinterest to optimize

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Biostatistics, or equivalent.
• Strong SQL and analytical programming skills with messy data.
• Experience building production-ready data pipelines and metrics.
• Solid foundation in experimentation and measurement with rigorous analysis.
• Ability to translate problems into clear analytical workstreams.
• Excellent cross-functional communication with engineers and product teams.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering and cross-functional teams to measure, understand, and optimize infrastructure.
• Build metrics, dashboards, and analytical frameworks for complex systems.
• Improve data foundations by defining metrics and auditing data quality.
• Design experiments and analyses to quantify impact of infrastructure changes.
• Translate ambiguous problems into actionable recommendations.
• Support high-priority investigations on performance, reliability, and cost.
