Job summary

The Leading Law Firm is seeking a senior Infrastructure Cloud Architect to lead an Azure-first hybrid infrastructure transformation. This hands-on role will shape direction while designing, building, and troubleshooting Azure-based solutions.

You will design, implement, and govern Azure infrastructure across networking, compute, storage, security, and resiliency, and support the move from legacy data centers to modern IaaS and colocation environments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure engineering, architecture, or enterprise technology.
• Strong networking and security fundamentals are required.
• Experience with compute, storage, virtualization, identity, RBAC, and governance is needed.
• Infrastructure as Code experience is expected.

A leading law firm is looking for a senior Infrastructure Cloud Architect to help lead a major Azure-first hybrid infrastructure transformation.

This is a hands‑on infrastructure architecture role, focused on Azure, networking, security, compute, storage, virtualization, resiliency, and hybrid infrastructure — not application architecture or DevOps. You’ll provide architectural direction while remaining close enough to the technology to design, build, implement, troubleshoot, and support solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement Azure and hybrid‑cloud infrastructure solutions
• Develop infrastructure standards, architecture patterns, roadmaps, and technical designs
• Work across Azure networking, VNets, routing, DNS, ExpressRoute, private endpoints, firewalls, load balancing, and segmentation
• Architect compute, storage, virtualization, security, identity, and resiliency solutions
• Support the law firm’s transition from legacy data centers toward Azure IaaS and new colocation environments
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and serve as a senior technical escalation point
• Develop architecture diagrams and Infrastructure as Code
• Partner with engineering, security, and infrastructure teams on large‑scale initiatives

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of infrastructure engineering, architecture, or enterprise technology experience
• Solid networking and security fundamentals
• Experience with compute, storage, virtualization, identity, RBAC, and governance
• Infrastructure as Code experience
• Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis skills
• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to technical and business leadership
• Someone who can still personally design, build, configure, implement, and troubleshoot infrastructure

The Hands‑On Piece Matters

This is not a role for an architect who has moved entirely into strategy or oversight. During the first year, the role will be approximately 60% architecture/strategy and 40% hands‑on implementation, troubleshooting, and operational support.

We’re particularly interested in senior infrastructure engineers ready to move into architecture and infrastructure/cloud architects who have remained hands‑on.
