Job summary

Accenture is seeking a Cost Manager in Infrastructure & Capital Projects in the United States. You will prepare cost estimates, develop life cycle costing, manage risk, and oversee cost reports for complex capital projects.

You will participate in design reviews, client meetings, and standardize templates to ensure consistent documentation while collaborating with diverse teams across disciplines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in cost/construction focused fields.
  • Minimum 2+ years of cost management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates and cost plans with benchmarking data.
  • Develop value engineering and life cycle costing options to optimize project efficiency.
  • Identify risks and maintain the project’s Risk Register.
  • Contribute to pre-contract meetings with cost insights.
  • Create and manage cost control reports and track financial performance.
  • Attend client meetings and document key decisions and actions.
  • Support design team meetings and assess cost implications.

THE WORK:
  • You'll prepare cost estimates and cost plans, incorporating benchmarking data for review.
  • You'll develop value engineering and life cycle costing options to optimize project efficiency.
  • You'll identify potential risks and help maintain the project’s Risk Register.
  • You'll contribute to pre-contract process meetings, offering cost-related insights.
  • You'll create and manage cost control reports to track financial performance.
  • You'll attend client meetings with senior colleagues and document key discussion points and actions.
  • You'll participate in design team meetings, assess cost implications, and implement agreed outcomes.
  • You'll assist in developing standardized project templates for consistent documentation.
  • You'll prepare and manage change order logs, invoice logs, and detailed cost reports.
  • You'll oversee measurements and pricing research for development appraisals and qualification reviews.
  • Flexible: The work location for this role will include a mix of working remotely, onsite at a client or in an Accenture office or center
  • With all our roles, there is some in-person time for collaboration, learning and building relationships with clients, peers, leaders and communities. As an employer, we will be as flexible as possible to support your specific work/life needs.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent - in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Data Analytics or another cost / construction focused
  • 2+ years of minimum cost management experience
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Experience working in hyper-scale data centers is a plus
  • Thorough and complete knowledge of the construction process and management techniques, methods, and materials.
  • Proficient in the use of advanced functions in CostX to produce estimates, bills, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) at an appropriate level
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Organized and detail oriented

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Virginia or Washington as set forth below.
