THE WORK:
  1. Prepare Independent Cost Estimates (ICE) for project planning, design, and construction phases.
  2. Review and finalize Engineer’s Estimates, considering phasing, operations, shift work, and time constraints.
  3. Develop detailed ICEs using conceptual data and engineering drawings, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  4. Produce Constructability Reports to identify design issues and develop realistic project budgets.
  5. Reconcile internal estimates with third-party estimates through review and communication.
  6. Analyze contractor and subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with internal estimates.
  7. Assess production factors and identify necessary contractor field equipment.
  8. Present cost estimates to stakeholders and support decision-making.
  9. Conduct material take-offs and prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
  10. Maintain and utilize historical cost data for future estimates.
  11. Review contracts and modifications to evaluate scope changes and costs.
  12. Assist in change order negotiations, reviewing scope, labor rates, and contractor mark-ups.
  13. Coordinate with project teams, document negotiations, and prepare reports.
  14. Work onsite at client locations to enable delivery and strengthen client relationships.

Salary Range: $132,363 - $145,600 per year. Compensation varies based on location, role, experience, and other factors. We comply with local laws regarding salary disclosures.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in engineering and construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • Certified estimating professional credential is required.
BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:
  • Experience with estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations.
  • Experience obtaining independent estimates from vendors/contractors for comparison and negotiations.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
  • Results-oriented, proactive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and with outside agencies (e.g., FAA, LADBS).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
