Job summary

COURSER is seeking a Builds Engineer I to design, configure, and deploy IT environments for clients, including workstations, servers, networking, VMs, and cloud resources. You will automate deployments and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and high-performing, collaborating with PMs and client reps.

Responsibilities include building custom environments, developing automation, and maintaining build documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1+ years of infrastructure deployment, systems engineering, or build engineering in MSP/IT services.
• Proficiency with virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Scripting and automation skills (Python, PowerShell) and tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Strong networking, storage, and security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy laptops, workstations, servers, networks, VMs, and cloud resources per client specs.
• Design custom IT environments aligned with client requirements and best practices.
• Set up scalable, high-performance, secure systems using virtualization and cloud tech.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows to streamline builds and reduce manual effort.
• Use configuration management tools to automate deployments and ensure consistency.
• Review and optimize scripts to adapt to evolving tech and client needs.
• Test builds thoroughly, including performance, security, and functionality checks.
• Ensure deployments meet quality standards and coordinate with QA and support teams.
• Document test results and build configurations for maintenance and future reference.
• Maintain build standards knowledge base and share best practices with the team.
• Provide client-facing guidance on build processes and system maintenance.
