Job Title: Technical Domain Architect – Infrastructure (Senior Architect)

Duration: 18+ Months Contract (Long-term)

Location: Jersey City, NJ (preferred) or Charlotte, NC

3 days onsite per week required Local candidates only

Required Pay Scale: Market / Competitive (based on experience)

This role is only open to USC or GC candidates

Job Summary: The Enterprise Architecture team is seeking a highly experienced Technical Domain Architect – Infrastructure to support the enterprise Technical Architecture Domain. This senior-level role is responsible for defining, governing, and maintaining the enterprise technical capability model and associated architectural blueprints across infrastructure, middleware, databases, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will partner closely with CIO architecture leaders, technology domain owners, and governance teams to ensure alignment of enterprise strategy, technical standards, and approved solution designs. This role plays a critical part in influencing strategic technology investments, enforcing architectural governance, and ensuring delivery alignment across a complex, regulated enterprise environment.

Project Details
  • Facilitate the creation and ongoing maintenance of the enterprise technical capability model and aligned technical blueprints
  • Partner with CIO architecture leads and technical domain owners to ensure consistency and alignment across all technical domains
  • Support architecture governance processes, including design reviews and technical approvals
  • Contribute to enterprise architecture roadmaps across Business, Application, Data, and Technology domains
  • Ensure technical domain alignment within product approval and governance workflows
  • Provide architectural oversight, guidance, and issue resolution across a broad portfolio of initiatives
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear architectural views for varied audiences, including senior leadership
  • Support strategic technology planning, investment decisions, and risk-based tradeoff analysis
Must Haves
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years in enterprise or technical architecture roles
  • Strong infrastructure expertise, including hardware, middleware, databases, and enterprise platforms
  • Broad-based IT knowledge across infrastructure, applications, data, and emerging technologies
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level architecture strategy, roadmap development, and governance
  • Proven ability to review, guide, and approve architectural designs
  • Experience working in large-scale enterprises; Financial Services experience strongly preferred
  • Hands‑on experience with architectural frameworks and standards such as TOGAF, Zachman, UML, BPMN
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
Desired Skills
  • Experience resolving conflicting priorities and influencing positive outcomes across teams
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem‑solving capabilities
  • Ability to manage senior stakeholder expectations and build trusted relationships
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with project management and delivery teams
  • PMP certification preferred but not required
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, matrixed enterprise environment
