We are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect specializing in Infrastructure and Security to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on expertise in AWS cloud networking and security, along with a strong foundation in developing scalable, resilient cloud solutions. This is a remote role; however, candidates must be local to Richmond, VA for occasional on-site requirements.

Cloud Networking & Security:
    • Implement and manage cloud networking concepts (VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups).

    • Design and enforce cloud security best practices, including Identity and Access Management (IAM).

    • Work with AWS Security Finding Format (ASFF) and integrate data from security services like:

      • AWS Security Hub

      • Amazon Macie

      • Amazon GuardDuty

      • Amazon Inspector

      • AWS Config

      • Amazon Detective

      • AWS IAM Access Analyzer

    • Set up integrations with AWS-native and third-party services (e.g., Amazon EventBridge, ASFF) to build robust security dashboards.

  • Architecture & Solution Development:

    • Design and develop cloud-native architectures and engineering solutions that are scalable, resilient, and secure.

    • Build solutions addressing both cloud networking and security aspects across applications and data ecosystems.

    • Develop front-end components and back-end services to create cohesive applications in cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS-focused).

  • Documentation & Process:

    • Create comprehensive solution documentation covering design, implementation, testing, and production support.

    • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate updates, feature deployments, and continuous improvements.


Required Skills & Experience:
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud architecture, particularly networking and security solutions.

  • In-depth knowledge of:

    • VPC, subnets, security groups, and cloud networking principles.

    • IAM policies, role management, and access controls.

    • Security service data management using ASFF and integrating AWS security tools.

  • Experience in:

    • Setting up cloud-native architectures and engineering resilient solutions.

    • Developing secure applications with front-end and back-end components in AWS.

    • Establishing CI/CD pipelines (AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, etc.).

  • Strong ability to write clear technical documentation and guide teams through best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior experience with security dashboard development.

  • Familiarity with hybrid infrastructure environments (cloud + on-prem).

  • Additional AWS certifications related to security and networking.

  • Background in working within agile development environments.
