Job summary

Acuren is seeking an Infrared Technician to perform infrared thermographic inspections and nondestructive testing at commercial and industrial job sites in the Houston area, with regular travel.

Responsibilities include setting up NDT equipment, analyzing thermal images, preparing detailed reports, and communicating findings to clients and team members. Required are a High School Diploma, Level II certification, and Thermography certification; refinery experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Certified Level II.
• Technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
• Experience in report writing.
• Thermography certification from an accredited institution.
• Level II certification with refinery experience preferred.
• Seasoned Level I technicians who can achieve Level II certification within three months may be considered.
• Excellent communication skills with individuals at all levels.
• Solid computer skills, particularly with Word, Excel, Outlook and FLIR Software.
• Strong time management, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clean driving record.
• TWIC.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment.
• Conduct NDT inspections to ensure quality or detect discontinuities and defects.
• Establish examination techniques while adhering to safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria per specifications and standards.
• Evaluate and organize test results.
• Perform specialized inspections.
• Perform infrared thermographic inspections of fired equipment, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and roofing at commercial/industrial sites.
• Analyze thermal images to identify anomalies or potential failures.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports using company templates.
• Document inspection findings and communicate results to team and clients.
• Represent the company on-site as primary customer contact.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to ensure clarity of results.
• Complete reporting duties in a timely manner.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
