Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an Infra Delivery Install Technician in Canton, MS to lead on-site hardware deployments and cabling for AWS data centers. You will work with cross-functional teams to install, test, and validate infrastructure components in a highly scalable environment.

The role requires lifting, travel to multiple data centers, and adherence to safety standards while supporting 24/7 operations. A technical background in IT and network cabling is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
  • 2+ years of network cabling, fibre optics, and test equipment experience (VFL, power meter, OTDR).
  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fibre cabling, switches, routers.

Responsibilities

  • Move and install large enterprise equipment.
  • Install fiber and copper cabling and patch panels.
  • Maintain safety and security standards during installation.
  • Follow established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities.
  • Travel within and outside the regional work area as required.

Infra Delivery Install Technicians will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, troubleshoot complex technical scenarios, and implement strategic solutions that keep our network running seamlessly. Key job responsibilities


  • Moving and implementing large enterprise equipment

  • Installing Fiber and Copper cabling and patching cabling between equipment

  • Ensuring proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation,

  • Following well established hardware installation procedures and break‑fix activities

  • Safely using material handling tools and equipment

  • Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required.


Physical Requirements:


  • All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds

  • Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed

  • Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments

  • Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day

  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation


Essential Requirements:


  • Ability to travel to or commute between data centre locations as needed

  • Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until assigned facility is operational

  • Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of assigned facility


Candidates must be able to travel (over 50 miles) or commute (less than 50 miles) to active data centre sites as required by business needs.


Basic Qualifications


  • 2+ years of data centre, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data centre operations experience, or experience in similar technical roles

  • 2+ years of network cabling, fibre optics, and test equipment including VFL, power meter, and OTDR experience

  • Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fibre cabling, switches, routers


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in an IT‑related field (e.g., Computer Science, Network Engineering), or experience in professional or military IT‑related roles

  • certification in a relevant field (CCENT - Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician, Network+, or CCNA - Cisco Certified Network Associate)

  • Experience in a data centre or other critical environment

  • Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays

  • Experience conducting behavioural interviews and hiring

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
