Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Infotainment Test Engineer with expertise in Android validation and AR/VR technologies to join our engineering team in Mountain View, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience validating Android-based infotainment systems, AR/VR applications, and automotive HMI features. You will work closely with software developers, system architects, and cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality infotainment experiences through comprehensive testing and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for Android-based infotainment systems.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end validation of infotainment features.
- Validate Android Automotive OS (AAOS) applications, system services, multimedia, connectivity, navigation, and HMI functionality.
- Test and validate AR/VR features, immersive user experiences, and 3D visualization applications.
- Verify Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, GPS, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and multimedia functionalities.
- Perform validation of audio, video, display, touch interface, voice assistant, and user interaction features.
- Analyze logs using ADB, Logcat, Bug Reports, and debugging tools to identify software defects.
- Report, track, and verify defects using defect management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with software developers and system engineers to reproduce, troubleshoot, and resolve issues.
- Participate in requirement reviews and provide feedback to improve product quality.
- Support automation efforts using Python or scripting tools to improve testing efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with software quality standards and release requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–8+ years of experience in infotainment or embedded software validation.
- Strong experience in Android Validation or Android Automotive OS (AAOS) testing.
- Hands-on experience testing AR/VR applications or immersive user interfaces.
- Experience with infotainment systems, HMI validation, multimedia, and connectivity testing.
- Strong knowledge of Android debugging tools including ADB, Logcat, and Bug Reports.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, GPS, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay validation.
- Familiarity with Linux and embedded systems.
- Experience writing automation scripts using Python is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS).
- Exposure to automotive infotainment systems and connected vehicle technologies.
- Knowledge of CAN, Ethernet, and automotive communication protocols.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Familiarity with Robot Framework, Appium, or Android UI automation.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
