Job summary

Strategic Education, Inc. is seeking an experienced Information Security leader to guide day-to-day operations of a high‑performing team.

You will oversee monitoring, triage, and rapid response to security alerts and incidents, while collaborating with IT and business stakeholders to align security with business goals. You will drive improvements across detection, response, and governance programs, mentor analysts, and ensure adherence to NIST, SOC, SOX, and COBIT frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8–10 years of progressive experience in Information Security with leadership across multiple security disciplines.
• Experience leading analysts responsible for monitoring and responding to security alerts and audits.
• CISSP, CCSP, and CISM certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Information Security Analysts responsible for monitoring, triaging, and responding to security alerts and incidents.
• Serve as escalation point and participate in incident response to ensure rapid containment and resolution.
• Establish a culture of urgency, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Drive improvements in detection, response processes, playbooks, tooling, and operational effectiveness.
• Partner with leaders across IT, Development, Operations, and business units to execute the enterprise security strategy.
• Own and manage key components of the information security program with measurable outcomes.
• Support cross-functional teams to address security risks and strengthen practices.
