Job summary

Akima is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer - Journeyman (ISSE) to support NAWCTSD in Norfolk, VA. The role will require planning and implementing cybersecurity controls across classified environments, conducting vulnerability scans with ACAS and Evaluate-STIG, and producing RMF artifacts and risk assessments.

Candidate must hold an active DoD Secret clearance and have at least 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, with RMF/A&A familiarity.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• Experience with RMF and A&A processes.
• Experience identifying cybersecurity risks and mitigations.
• Ability to work as sole on-site resource with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail; produce accurate, first-pass deliverables.
• DoD 8140 qualifications such as CCSP / Cloud+ / SecurityX or BS degree.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor, and maintain cybersecurity controls for networks and information.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and assessment using ACAS and Evaluate-STIG.
• Support RMF / A&A processes; develop and maintain cybersecurity artifacts.
• Assess risks and provide actionable risk recommendations.
• Respond to incidents and remain current with threats and best practices.
• Serve as the primary on-site cybersecurity resource for the program.
