Job summary

Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, seeks an on-site System Administrator to provide system administration, support, and systems analysis for assigned applications. This role offers level 2 software application support to the university user community and acts as a resource for level 1 analysts to ensure timely ticket resolution.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a computer- or business-related discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related or business-related discipline required.
• Minimum 2 years experience in system administration, level 2 application support, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with academic environment and familiarity with academic-related applications preferred.
• Familiarity with Ellucian Colleague Systems is a plus.
• Experience with Financial Applications is a plus.
• Excellent communication, organizational and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and coordinate upgrades for technology systems in assigned areas.
• Coordinate the execution of user acceptance testing and develop test cases for QA.
• Analyze business process issues and propose solutions; research, design, test, implement and evaluate solutions.
• Suggest new functionality and oversee interfaces for supported applications.
• Demonstrate thorough and friendly customer service to the university community.
• Communicate clearly to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
• This is a 100% on-campus position.

Position Summary

Provide system administration, support, and systems analysis of assigned applications. Provide level 2 software application support for the university user community. Resource for level 1 system analyst to ensure timely resolution of tickets. This is a 100% on-campus position.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and coordinate minor upgrades for technology systems in assigned responsibility areas, including problem-solving and implementing system modifications.
• Coordinate the execution of user acceptance testing procedures and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process.
• Analyze business process issues and/or problems and provide consulting assistance to system users; conduct research on possible solutions and make recommendations based on findings; suggest, design, test, implement, and evaluate solutions.
• Brainstorm new ways to add more functionality to systems
• Coordinate creation, updates, and retirement of interfaces for supported applications
• Demonstrate thorough and friendly customer service to the university community
• Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, to different audiences
• May perform all or some of the responsibilities above and other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Attributes

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related or business-related discipline required
• Minimum 2 years experience in system administration, level 2 application support, and troubleshooting
• Experience with and understanding of academic environment and familiarity with academic-related applications preferred
