Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Local IT team in Carlisle, PA. The role focuses on supporting distribution center operations, PC and networked device troubleshooting, and ensuring system uptime across office and warehouse environments.

You will work onsite M-F 8-5, manage tickets, and collaborate with a local IT team on projects while handling equipment and inventory efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience valued.
  • Experience with Distribution Center operations.
  • Experience with Corporate IT operations and collaboration with local team members.
  • On-site work in an office and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; physical requirements understood.

Responsibilities

  • Improve distribution center operations by supporting and integrating systems.
  • Ensure high uptime and maintain documentation, standards, and procedures.
  • Support users in a Tier 1/2 capacity and manage incoming tickets.
  • Assist ongoing projects and troubleshoot PC, hardware and software issues.
  • Train users on workstations and installed software; maintain inventory.

Ross Systems Administrator

Location:Carlise, PA

Schedule:M-F 8-5pm

Interview Process: 1 Round

Openings: 1

12 Month W2 contract with options to extend or convert to FTE

Compensation:$28-32/Hour

Required Skills and Experience
  • Experience troubleshooting PCs, desktops, tablets, scan guns, and printers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree. (highly valued but could be relevant work experience if needed)
  • Experience with Distribution Center operations.
  • Experience with Corporate IT operations and collaboration with local team members
  • Requires ability to work on site in an office and warehouse environment.
  • Requires ability to lift items up to 30 pounds, bending, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, listening, attending in-person and online meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience with backup technologies, high-end storage solutions (Hitachi SAN preferable), SCCM System Management and Event Management tool or related technology
  • Experience with the installation, maintenance, security, performance monitoring, performance tuning, and integrity of the operating system.
  • Experience with IT processes such as System Management, Patch Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Release Management, Problem Management, Business Continuity Planning, Customer Service and Vendor Relationship Management.
  • Experience defining and delivering effective methodologies and process to enable a proactive work environment and deliver structured work that is repeatable for all Tier 1 support individuals, or organizations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Job Description
  • Working to improve distribution center operations by participating in support and integration activities.
  • As a member of the Local IT team, this position will ensure high standards for system uptime and availability, establishing documentation, standards, best practices, procedures, processes, and guidelines.
  • Support users and maintains computer environment in a Tier 1/2 capacity.
  • Manage incoming tickets.
  • Support ongoing projects as needed.
  • Troubleshoot PC, hardware and software issues including internet connectivity, operating system, Office 365, and other issues.
  • Train users on use and best practices in using their workstations and installed software.
  • Keep inventory of equipment and ensure items are in stock and accounted for.
  • Other duties as assigned
