Job description

Dull and Boring…

…is not what you will find here. Daedalus Networks is a fast-paced, growing technology solutions and systems integration business based in Anchorage, Alaska. We are looking for an additional technician who is equally at ease with complex technology and real, live human beings.

You are…

…a skilled tech generalist who actually likes people. You have the maturity, ethics, and emotional intelligence to sit across from a frustrated client, take a deep breath, and turn a high-stress outage into a calm, reassuring conversation. You understand that keeping clients happy, de-escalating issues, and communicating clearly is often more important than having an instant technical answer. You welcome the brain-expanding interaction and support of a diverse team of fellow tech-heads.

We are…

…Daedalus Networks: a tight-knit group of technicians supporting businesses throughout Alaska and beyond. We work both remotely and onsite using modern, company-supplied tools to build, secure, and support our clients' technical infrastructure. We combine technical finesse, life experience, resourcefulness, and top-tier client service to make stuff work.

We need…

…your combination of confidence, competence, composure under pressure, and attention to detail. You are not the shy, awkward type and comfortable with a wide range of client personalities. While certifications are great, extensive experience as a \"generalist\" with strong soft skills and a knack for problem-solving is what truly wins in this role.

  • Everything you need to fulfill your role: laptop, network management tools, remote office gear, toolkit, mileage reimbursement, health benefits, and team meetings with a group that seriously loves IT.
  • A supportive team culture always ready to provide backup, shared knowledge, and extra hands for large-scale projects.
  • A dynamic daily workload with varied environments and projects that will sharpen your technical chops while building your communication finesse.
The Boring Bits
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional onsite and remote technical support to our business clients across the Anchorage area.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during technical hiccups, prioritizing client peace of mind, active listening, and issue de-escalation above all else.
  • Perform user issue analysis, correctly interpret client concerns, troubleshoot systematically, and follow through to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Maintain positive, long-term relationships with clients by keeping them informed and confident throughout the support process.
  • Coordinate effectively with third-party vendors, ISPs, and client leadership.
  • Develop and maintain clear, accurate, real-time documentation of client network infrastructure.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience supporting end-user networks in Microsoft Windows environments (some Mac experience is a nice bonus).
  • Proven ability to stay cool, personable, and empathetic under pressure when dealing with frustrated users or urgent technical issues.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, M365 administration, and core networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, Switching, VPNs).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills—able to translate complex \"tech speak\" into friendly, understandable terms for clients.
  • Ability to concisely document technical work in real-time.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs of gear (if you can lift 400 lbs, we’d love to see it, but 40 lbs is our actual limit).
  • Ability to stand, sit, and breathe for extended periods.
  • Reliable personal transportation for local client visits.
  • Certifications like CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified (MCP/M365), or CCNA are a plus, but real-world capability and strong soft skills matter most.
  • Pay Rate: Competitive, Depends on Experience
  • Health Insurance: Medical Cost Sharing Plan
  • Retirement: 401(k)
  • Time Off: Paid leave and holidays
  • Growth: Continuing education and certification reimbursement
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday with rotating on-call schedule
  • Work Location: In-person / Onsite (Anchorage, AK) with local client travel and occasional remote work flexibility
