Job summary

US Merit Systems Protection Board is seeking a Systems Administrator Level I to support and manage the agency’s Microsoft cloud and enterprise computing environment. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers and cloud administrators to configure and maintain O365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, and Defender.

The role requires hands-on experience with Windows, cloud infrastructure, and ITIL-friendly service management practices, with emphasis on problem solving and customer service.

If selected, you'll serve as a Systems Administrator Level I within the Office of Information Resources Management (IRM), performing a variety of duties involving the support and administration of the agency's Microsoft cloud and enterprise computing environment. This work involves configuration and maintenance of Microsoft O365 services, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Azure cloud services, Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender under the guidance of senior engineer and cloud administrators Applicants must meet all qualifications and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement, including specialized experience and/or education, as defined below.

FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL:

• Applying administrative knowledge of Windows desktop operating system, Microsoft O365, and Microsoft Azure Cloud Infrastructure to support day-to-day IT operations.
• Coordinating disparate IT resources to troubleshoot and resolve user and administrative IT problems.
• Utilizing IT Service Management, Cloud and endpoint security, Cloud backup, Cloud VPN, Teams telephony, and SDWAN products.

OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
