Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology, Cyber Security Directorate, Security Services Division located in Ashburn, VA.
Duties

In this Information Technology Specialist (Security) position you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals and serve as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO).

This position starts at a salary of $101,401.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $131,826.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $131,826 (GS-12 Step 10).

You qualify for this position if you meet the basic requirement listed above and possess one year of specialized experience as described below.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

• Implementing guidance on networks security and evaluating system for potential risks.
• Investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents within IT environments
• Identifying the current and potential problem areas, reviews requirements and make recommendations for fully compliant information systems security implementation.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP.
