The Information Technology Specialist I will have independent responsibility for the coordination, administration, maintenance and software support for the statewide DNA database, CAL-DNA. The state DNA database must coordinate with and provide data to the National DNA Index System (NDIS), on an ongoing basis through a wide area network. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the accumulation of information, analysis and problem definition, contracting of software development, and the development of statewide plans for databases which interface with local laboratories and the national system, NDIS.
