UPMC in Pittsburgh is launching the two-year Information Technology Rotation (ITR) accelerated learning program. This full-time entry level position lets high-achieving participants pursue four unique, six-month rotations across UPMC’s IT division, starting January 2027.
Rotations include software engineering, project management, and analytics; candidates gain exposure to security, enterprise architecture, EHR support, and more.

The next cohort begins in January 2027, and it is your chance to explore a wide range of IT roles while contributing to innovative healthcare solutions!
Whatever your interest in Information Technology is – highly technical to non-technical spaces and everything in between – the ITR Program is the place for you! Our accelerated learning program allows participants to explore various functions of IT across multiple UPMC divisions, such as the Corporate Services, Health Services, and Insurance Services divisions. Rotation placements can be in the functions of software engineering, project management, and analyst roles in areas such as (but not limited to) information security, enterprise architecture, custom application development, project management, coding and testing, infrastructure, Electronic Heath Record (EHR) support, and strategic planning.
Along with having the chance to learn from four different IT teams during your rotations at UPMC, program participants have the opportunity to network with high-level executives, give back to the Pittsburgh community through service events, receive guidance from a personal advisor who is an IT leader, and build lasting connections within UPMC. Upon completion of the program, graduates are highly sought after for complex roles across the organization.
