IT Product Manager / Senior Business Analyst – Enterprise Data Management (EDM)

Location: Midtown Manhattan, 2 days a week onsite, 3 remote

Our direct client, is seeking a Product Manager / Senior Business Analyst with deep expertise in Enterprise Data Management to join their growing Data Governance & Master Data Management team. This role will lead the design and execution of modern data governance strategies across security, issuer, client, and legal entity domains, with a focus on Markit EDM or comparable MDM tools such as GoldenSource, Informatica MDM, Oracle EDMCS, DL+, Tibco EBX, or Reltio.

You’ll partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders across business and IT to build scalable solutions that power critical business decisions, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency in a data-driven financial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the product roadmap and execution for Master Data Management and governance initiatives, leveraging tools like Markit EDM.
• Collaborate with data owners, engineers, and business leaders to define requirements, business rules, and data workflows for client, security, and entity mastering.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and user stories while managing product backlogs and prioritizing features.
• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of master data models and onboarding workflows.
• Act as SME for data mastering, security operations, and best-of-breed data source integration (e.g., Bloomberg DL+, Refinitiv).
• Perform data validation, testing, and sign-off processes to ensure integrity, consistency, and usability.
• Coordinate across data stewards, governance leads, and IT teams to improve data lineage, quality, and catalog visibility.
• Use SQL and analytical tools to identify trends, solve data issues, and present insights to stakeholders.
• Support the technical oversight and business use of tools like Collibra, Datactics, or other metadata/quality platforms.

Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services, asset management, or investment operations.
• Deep familiarity with Markit EDM or similar master data platforms (GoldenSource, Informatica MDM, NeoXam, Tibco EBX, etc.).
• Strong understanding of financial domains, including fixed income and security reference.
• Proven success gathering business requirements, leading product delivery, and executing in Agile environments.
• Proficient in SQL for data exploration, validation, and problem-solving.
• Exceptional interpersonal, documentation, and communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (advanced degrees/certifications a plus).

Nice to Have:

• Experience with data catalog tools (e.g., Collibra), data quality tools (e.g., Datactics), or reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
• Background in building or scaling data governance programs or implementing stewardship frameworks.
• Familiarity with regulatory reporting (e.g., ESG, SFDR), investment data, or enterprise data lake environments.
