Job summary

ALOM is seeking an IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team. You will provide hands-on technical support across the organization, from desktop setup and helpdesk assistance to onboarding new employees on ALOM technology systems.

You will design processes, gather requirements, document workflows, and assist with asset management, end-user support, and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and setting up Microsoft- and Linux-based computers.
• Proficiency in all systems used by the company, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred.

About the Role

ALOM is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you'll provide hands-on technical support across the organization — from desktop setup and helpdesk assistance to new employee onboarding on ALOM technology systems — while helping design and document the processes that keep our IT department running smoothly. You'll work closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to streamline how we deliver support and meet business needs.

You Will Have the Opportunity To

• In cooperation with other departments, design processes that ensure stakeholder needs are met; create documentation and process flows in accordance with delivery requirements
• Gather information and requirements for process design
• Assist in streamlining processes and creating documentation with input from stakeholders and subject matter experts
• Create documentation as required for development and infrastructure projects
• Perform research as needed for scoping processes and recommending products
• Assist in asset management of both physical and virtual assets
• Assist with day-to-day helpdesk operations and provide support for ALOM operations and ALOM end users
• Perform desktop setup and aid end users
• Train new employees to understand ALOM Technologies systems
• Assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations
• Support cross-functional initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team environment

You Will Be Responsible For

• Experience deploying and setting up Microsoft-and Linux-based computers
• Proficiency in all systems used by the company, including Microsoft Office 365
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Exchange Online, Microsoft Entra, and Active Directory administration
• Experience in a supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environment
• Familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems and IT asset management tools
• Experience developing IT process documentation and process flows

Work Environment & Physical Requirements with occasional work in warehouse areas.

This role primarily operates in an office and warehouse environment. The position may require:

• Ability to sit/stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., desktop equipment, servers, peripherals)
