Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking an Information Technology Engineer to provide IT assistance to agency staff and resolve user issues as they arise. The role supports asset QA, procurement, and ongoing IT operations across multiple sites with a focus on reliability and service quality.

You will train staff on computer and telecom systems, assist with new equipment installations, and work with a team to maintain hardware and software, including OS upgrades.

Qualifications

  • Associates in Information Technology or a high school diploma is required.
  • 0–1 year of information technology experience is required.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with QA of IT assets and procurement for agency equipment.
  • Maintain IT assets to ensure optimal telecommunications and computer resources.
  • Provide user training on computers and telecom systems and assist with installations.
  • Collaborate with team to analyze and maintain hardware/software and upgrade OS/applications.
  • Troubleshoot a range of hardware/software issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Deliver courteous, professional support and document requests in the helpdesk system.
  • Adhere to HIPAA security standards and provide on-call support as needed.
  • Attend meetings and trainings and stay-certified in required programs.

Job Description Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Information Technology Engineer is to provide IT assistance to agency staff members by fielding questions and resolving user problems as they occur.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with quality assurance of assets in inventory, deployed assets, and the procurement process for all agency IT equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining agency information technology assets to provide for optimum use of telecommunications and computer resources.
  • Provide training for agency staff members in the usage of computers and telecommunications systems as well as assisting with new equipment installations at a variety of sites and new office startups.
  • Work cooperatively with a team to analyze and maintain existing hardware and software capabilities as well as the installation and upgrade of operating systems and application software when needed.
  • Utilize best practices in troubleshooting a variety of hardware and/or software issues and perform “root cause analysis” in conjunction with users with varying technical knowledge.
  • Provide courteous and professional customer service while troubleshooting issues over the phone and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Record all Information Technology support requests in the agency helpdesk ticket system and prioritize service request response.
  • Follow and maintain HIPAA standards for various levels of security and confidentiality.
  • Provide on-call support as assigned.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required. Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and comply with all agency policies and procedures, as well as state and federal statutes and regulations related to specific information technology areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and assists in crisis situations.
  • Complete all other relevant responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Drive and travel as required.
