Information Technology - Computer Lab Assistant, SC4LABADSOCT (SU25)
Student Worker Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semesteror 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist students and community members in academic computer labs and on the Student Support Helpdesk.

  • Help students access and assist with their MyAccess, Blackboard, and Outlook Live student accounts.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues related to these applications on phone, via email or in person and document student interactions in database.
  • In charge of checking out lab materials, answering phones, assisting students and instructors with technology.
  • Help students access the network and applications available in the labs.
  • Assist students to print and troubleshoot printing related problems.
  • Answer phones and answer general questions from patrons of ACC.
  • Advise users of lab regulations and facilitate enforcement of lab policies.
  • Provide general cleaning of equipment and facilities.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • THIS IS A STUDENT JOB.
      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester.
      • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
      • If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived.
      • If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds.
    • Experience
      • Good Communication Skills (written and verbal). Customer service skills relating to students, instructors, and the community required.
      • Answering multi-line phones and transcribing messages required.
      • Basic knowledge of computer systems required.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other online applications preferred.

    • COD Training
      • Compliance Training

    Working Conditions:

  • PC computers, MAC computers, multi-line phones, projector, scanners, administrative database and student systems.
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • Some minor lifting of boxes as needed up to 20 lbs.
  • Answering high volume of telephone calls and extensive public interaction.
  • This student position requires the following test/tests: Background Check.
  • Pay Rate: Student FY23 Rate 1 - $15.00 per hour
