Freelance Consultant | IT Architecture Management Platform Operations & Development | Public Sector / Defense | Full-time | 10-month Contract

Our client is seeking an experienced Consultant to support the operation and further development of an IT Architecture & Portfolio Management Platform. The role focuses on ensuring availability, scalability, security, patching, and integrity monitoring, as well as driving platform enhancements based on the product roadmap and release planning.

This is a freelance engagement running from 01.03.2026 to 31.12.2026, with 95% remote delivery and 5% onsite in Bonn.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and continuously optimize the IT Architecture & Portfolio Management Platform according to the defined service scope
• Implement functional enhancements and improvements based on the product roadmap and release plan
• Deploy and manage platform releases in test, integration, and production environments
• Ensure platform stability through high availability, scalability, security, patching, and integrity monitoring
• Provide and maintain required software artifacts for platform operations and deployments
• Define configuration standards for packaging software products for deployment on Windows client systems
• Operate containers using Podman on Red Hat server systems
• Operate and support Sparx Enterprise Architect and GitLab installations
• Operate client applications connected to backend systems such as LemonTree and GitLab
• Support the operation and integration of GitLab Runner, Prolaborate, Armis, and LieberLieber LemonTree

What You Bring

• German language skills at C1 level and English at B1 level (CEFR)
• Valid ITIL Foundation certification (v3 or v4)
• At least 5 years of experience operating and optimizing software products in virtualized environments
• At least 5 years of experience operating and optimizing Windows Server infrastructure
• At least 3 years of experience operating and optimizing Linux Server infrastructure
• At least 3 years of experience operating Podman-based containers on Red Hat systems
