Job description

Connsci is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to manage security and compliance for ICAM systems on a large federal program. This role involves overseeing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle, managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), conducting security assessments, and ensuring continuous monitoring of security controls.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee RMF activities, including security control implementation, assessment, and continuous monitoring.
• Develop, maintain, and update security documentation such as SSPs, security assessments, and POA&Ms.
• Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with federal and agency standards.
• Respond to security incidents, managing documentation, reporting, and remediation processes.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to integrate security into systems development and operations.
• Act as a liaison between security teams, auditors, and technical staff to maintain compliance and security standards.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 7 years of cybersecurity experience in the federal government space
• At least 3 years of experience serving as an ISSO
• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related discipline
• CISSP or CISM certification
• Current Public Trust or higher level government clearance

Location: This role can be performed remotely but occasional team meeting are possible so preference will be given to applicants who are local to the DC Metro area.
