Base pay range

$92,213.33/yr - $125,146.66/yr

Position Overview

CGS is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) with expertise in DIACAP and/or RMF to support Department of Commerce systems and facilitate their Authorization to Operate (ATO). The role involves full lifecycle Assessment and Authorization (A&A) management through all 6 steps of the RMF process, supporting the Government ISSM. Responsibilities include conducting security assessments and overseeing information system security activities in accordance with NIST 800.53.

Key Responsibilities

• Review systems for security vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
• Manage organizational cybersecurity risks and maintain a risk registry
• Provide security guidance based on NIST RMF, DoC, and local policies
• Coordinate configuration management and changes with relevant security officials
• Maintain compliance with vulnerability scanning tools and patch management systems
• Support security authorization activities, including transitioning from DIACAP to RMF
• Provide cybersecurity expertise and develop solutions for complex problems
• Prepare and review security assessment and authorization documentation
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 5 years of experience in roles such as IA Analyst, ISSE, ISSO, with ATO package development experience
• Experience with eMASS and security documentation
• Professional security certifications such as CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, SSCP or higher
• Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent writing and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• CISSP, CASP, or similar certification
• Master’s Degree in Cybersecurity or related field
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in teams
